a. Eye and hearing protection will be provided and must be worn at all times while in the forge or observing demonstrations. We highly recommend wearing safety footwear and long sleeves for additional protection. A comprehensive safety briefing will be conducted upon arrival.
b. Please note that the forge is situated within an active farm environment. Tractors and other farm machinery may be operational in the vicinity. We urge all participants to exercise caution when moving between the forge, rest areas, and toilet facilities, ensuring vigilance at all times.
12. Photography
By participating in the course, attendees implicitly consent to the use of any photographs or videos captured during the event for promotional purposes. These materials may be featured on Thorn Wood Forge's website or social media platforms unless a participant expressly opts out. Please notify us in writing if you do not wish your image to be used.
13. Clothing
Participants are advised to dress appropriately for varying weather conditions, as much of the course takes place outdoors and within the forge, both of which are subject to the elements. It is recommended to wear clothing that can withstand dirt and potential damage. Prioritise comfort and safety, bearing in mind the practical and hands-on nature of the course.
14. Toilet Facilities
Our toilet facilities are gender-neutral, designed to accommodate all participants comfortably.
15. Catering
Catering includes a selection of tea, coffee, and non-dairy milk alternatives available upon request. Participants with specific dietary needs are encouraged to inform us as soon as possible after booking. We strive to accommodate all dietary requirements to the best of our ability. However, please be aware that due to the nature of our food preparation areas, cross-contamination may occur unless we are given adequate notice to make necessary arrangements.
16. Accessibility
We are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible experience for all participants. If you have any physical restrictions, disabilities, or other needs that require accommodation, please inform us at the time of booking or reach out to us prior to booking. This will allow us to discuss and arrange suitable accommodations to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for you during the course.
17. Wine Tasting
Some courses includes an optional wine tasting session. Please note that participants must be 18 years or older to partake in wine tasting, and we will conduct ID checks to ensure compliance with legal age requirements. While the session is designed for tasting in moderation, we remind all participants to consider their consumption and its potential effects. It is the responsibility of each participant to make informed decisions regarding their fitness to drive or travel home safely after the course. We encourage planning your journey home in advance and considering alternative transportation options if necessary.
